When the earliest McDonald's restaurants were opened in the UK in the 1970s, customers travelled miles to visit them. Today, customers demand greater convenience and want to visit a McDonald's wherever they are, and at any time during the day.

There are currently more than 1,000 McDonald's restaurants throughout the UK, and the Company continues to strive to offer greater convenience to customers while responding sympathetically to local circumstances. In the final analysis, without the support of the communities in which they trade, the restaurants have no business. Opening the right type of restaurant in the right location is therefore vital to the Company's continuing success.
